International Awareness and Involvement

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recognizes that we are not only citizens of the United States, but also citizens of the world. Global citizenship and service are essential to advancing educational development and improving health outcomes worldwide.

The Kansas City (MO) Alumnae Chapter supports these global initiatives through partnerships with organizations such as We Go International and Spark Ventures. Together, we serve as Global Ambassadors, empowering communities to create meaningful and lasting change around the world.

Current Initiatives:

Zambia Period Poverty Impact

Goal: 250 period packs; current 228 ($2280)

Access to menstrual products is more than a health necessity—it’s a step toward dignity, education, and equality. By supporting this initiative, you help ensure that girls and women can attend school, work, and participate fully in their communities without the stigma or limitations of period poverty.

For just $10.50 ($0.50 is a servicing fee) you can provide a full year of reusable, handmade menstrual pads for students and staff in Zambia. These durable and washable pads are handmade at Hope Community School.

Your gift delivers more than hygiene—it delivers hope, opportunity, and empowerment.

Jamaica 2025 Service Trip

The Kansas City (MO) Alumnae Chapter launched its inaugural International Service Trip to Jamaica, with more than 50 Sorors, friends, and family members participating. The primary goal was to provide educational enrichment to local students through tutoring, hands-on STEM projects, and the donation of school supplies. Planning is already underway for the 2026 International Service Trip.
