Scholarship
Cotillion is a youth development and scholarship program co-sponsored by the Foundation for Delta Educational and Economic Development (DEED Foundation) and the Kansas City (MO) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as part of its national five-point program. The annual program is designed to enhance the academic, social, cultural, and civic awareness of selected female and male high school seniors from the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.
During a six-month period, the students participate in a college experience retreat, an essay competition, workshops to improve college-readiness, and a talent showcase. The highlight of the program is the formal presentation dinner, which features a grand waltz performance and the announcement of scholarship awards. The Cotillion program has awarded more than $1.9M in college scholarships to 973 participants since 1986. For the 2024 Cotillion program, we awarded $64,500.00 to 20 high school seniors!
